Electrical Rewiring serving Neath

It is recommended that a house is rewired by a certified electrician every 25 years. This is because regulations can change during this time, as well as the amount of electrical appliances that are present in your home. If you are buying a property that is over 25 years old, you may want to consider if the electrical wiring is up to date. Rewiring your home will adhere it to the most up-to-date health & safety requirements.

If you decide to rewire your home the new cables installed will be able to give out more power, making it less hazardous and less vulnerable to malfunctioning. The use of modern wiring and cables means you and your family stay safe knowing the chances of an electrical fire are significantly less.

Rewiring the electrics in your property, be it a full rewire or a partial rewiring, will allow you to save more money on your energy bills in the long term. All faulty wiring will be removed and discarded, and then replaced with new and more efficient wiring.

Your home will be safer and cost you less in the long run.

What is electrical rewiring?

In your home there is an electrical wiring system that powers all the electrical appliances throughout your home. Over time, the condition of the wiring throughout your home deteriorates and it can become hazardous and less efficient.

Electrical rewiring involves the removal of all old wiring in your home and then the installation of new wiring. This is to prevent any potential incidents occurring because of old and deteriorated wires.

It is recommended that your property is rewired every 25 years. If you live in a home, or own a property over 25 years old it may be time to look for signs of needing an electrical rewire.

5 Signs your property needs electrical rewiring

1. If you have an old fuse box. This can be an indication that the wiring behind the fuse box is old and out dated.

2. If your sockets, switches or wires are in bad condition (as seen in our image),  this may be an indication that the property needs electrical rewiring.

3. Flickering or dimming lights, this can be caused by too much voltage or too little. This can be caused by the light bulb its self but a spike or dip in power can also be caused by faulty wiring.

4. Fuses blowing repeatedly, although a faulty electrical appliance can be the cause of this problem if you cannot point the cause problem to an appliance then it may be time to get an electrician to check your wiring.

5. An old house. If your property is over 30 years old and you don't know the condition of the wiring, it could possibly be worth getting an electrician in to take a look at your electrical system.
